The last day of the month! Tomorrow is the Christmas concert and you all have been working so hard on your actions and performance. In the morning we will do the spelling test and then we get to watch the Div. 1 dress rehearsal! We'll throw in some math and language arts activities (maybe some french aussi) then in the afternoon it's our turn to perform for the little kids. Our dress rehearsal starts at 12:45 so please remember to bring in those slippers! I do hope that everyone who needs a ride has arranged to get to the Glenmore Christian Academy for our concert tomorrow night! Parents, I'm looking forward to seeing your proud faces in the audience at our concert!

The Christmas concert tickets went home today. Please don't lose them because, of course, parents will need them to get into the concert this Thursday! It's nice to see that for those students who's parents are unable to attend this festive event for whatever reason, the boys and girls are offering to arrange a ride for a classmate who still wants to be in the performance but didn't have the means to get to the venue. Thank you in advance! That's the Christmas spirit! Remember that rather than charging a fee to attend the concert we are requesting that you bring in a monetary donation or a non-perishable food item to go toward our caring for our community initiative.
The grade 6 students are charting the phases of the moon for the month of December. Actually we will start tonight. What you will discover is that yesterday was a new moon so if you see anything in the night sky, it will be just a little sliver on the right hand side. We are slowly moving into a waxing crescent. The December book orders are due in this Thursday so you will receive your order before the break! There are some great books this month. Fun lunch orders are due in by Monday. Take a look at Sunday's blog for the spelling list words and other reminders.
You are going to be writing out your spelling list words in complete sentences to hone your writing skills. The sentences are due by this Thursday - test day! Make your sentences amusing and please remember to print neatly and use the correct punctuation! The subway fun lunch order forms went home today along with the December Scholastic book order forms. Today we talked about having a Secret Santa draw for the last day before the Winter Break, December 16th! It was decided that the gift should be around $10.00 - $14.00. The boys will draw a boys name and the girls will draw names from the girls in our class. We haven't drawn names just yet as I know some people have a very difficult time keeping who they drew a SECRET! The gifts will need to be wrapped and labelled with TO: (who the gift is for) and then signed LOVE: Secret Santa. Please be at school on time tomorrow as we are practicing our Christmas Song in the gym first thing. Don't forget to bring along any props you may have for our songs! Come Zumba in the morning this Wednesday. It starts at 8:00 in the gym! Thank you to all who attended the conferences on Thursday and Friday. It was great sharing your hard work, revisiting the goals you had set for yourselves and thinking about how we can strive to achieve our very best both academically and behaviorally.
