Well what a fun, exciting, educational, bonding and exhausting time we had at Outdoor School. So much learning about our great outdoors and each other!
Now it's time to start putting our noses to the grind stone. I can't believe that February is almost over! The Spelling #6 worksheet has 50 words on it and is a review of lessons 1-5. Please work on the words every day this week so you ace the test this Friday! Try to explain POW #6 to your parents and see if they get it! Fun lunch forms went home today and require a fast turn around. Please return form by tomorrow if you are interested in the 2 fun lunches coming up to help raise funds for the Playground! How is your basic facts recall? This is something else you should be working on all the time! I don't think you are allowed to use your multiplication table on the PAT"s so you should practice daily to up your speed and accuracy! I've extended the home writing assignment where you have to write a speech about something you are passionate about. You will be presenting your speech this Thursday/Friday - earlier if you're done and are ready to present. Good luck!

Thank you to all of the parents who attended the Outdoor School meeting on Thursday, February 2nd. The boys and girls are getting very excited about our upcoming outdoor adventures at Camp Chief Hector. All forms are to be returned by February 13. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me or Mrs. Hugill and we'll do our best to answer any questions and put your mind at ease. Boys and girls, try to find a picture of your 'nature name' as we will be making our tree cookie name tags in art this week.
This week's spelling words are very tricky so make sure you study them starting tonight and every night! Lesson #5 The “i” Before “e” Rule Many words contain the letter combination “ie” or “ei”. There is a simple rule that can help you to remember which combination to use. When you encounter a word that contains the letters “i” and “e” remember to put “I” before “e” except after “c” or when pronounced like “a” as in “neighbour” and “weigh”. There are exceptions to this rule that have been included in the word list. The spelling of these words should be memorized because they do not follow the “i” before “e” rule. handkerchief reprieve conceit reindeer proteins lieutenant interview deceit reign seizure achieve piece inconceivable freight leisure ambient wield perceive beige height grieve relieve perceive weird Receiver General The Sky Science Unit test is this Thursday and continues on to next Tuesday so be sure to review the vocabulary words and all of your notes. Tomorrow we will be going over the Sky Science Vocabulary sheet we started today. The February Book orders are due in by this Friday, February 10th. Have a great evening, stay warm and see you tomorrow! Tomorrow is the spelling test and Math quiz so I hope you all have been studying! The blue spelling worksheet was due today but I extended the deadline for the sheet to be completed until tomorrow.
